British Petro To Finance Asia's Largest LNG Project The Funding Following the release of €1,367,000,000.00 (Initial) financing granted by British Petro, Jiangsu Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited will expend to become a global engineering, procurement and construction company that specializes in delivering technology oriented projects for the petrochemical, polymers, fibers, energy, biofuels, and environmental industries. Designs of re-gasification plants will include extensive systems to store and process LNG safely. Safety features will include spill containment, methane detectors, fire detection and suppression equipment. Personnel will receive regular training in safe practices and fire control. The project will be jointly developed by British Petro and Jiangsu Natural Gas Company with an estimated investment of €1,7 billion (Euros). The Reserve According to World Natural Gas Survey, Jiangsu Gas Company's proven natural gas reserves will stand at approximately 900 trillion cubic feet (27.6 trillion cubic metres), that is almost 17% of all known natural gas reserves and the third-largest in the world behind Russia and Iran. The Construction Construction will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will be completed within five years. First cargo will be delivered to the terminal from Nantong in a period of six years and will have an annual capacity of 50mt. Phase two is scheduled for completion during next 10 years and will increase the capacity of the plant to 89mt. The plant will be designed for a maximum capacity of 100mt. Jobs for China The project is budgeted to cost 1,7 billion Euros. At the peak of the development there will be up to 12,000 people working on this project.
